This project is a renovation of housing in Hakozaki after transfer of Kyushu University, and we designed it on the theme of Space, Edge, and Light. Space: We connected from public to private in stages by changing the location of the entrance faced an alley and setting an erstwhile spot garden as the approach. Edge: we kept the tea-ceremony room which the owner was attached to without breaking it and reorganized it as a guest space in front of an entrance while leading their gaze from mother’s bedroom. Light: we led the skylight, which is promising even if a narrow residential area, to living space on the first floor through an atrium.
