Sakuramachi Sunshine Animal Clinic

We renovated a building that had long been a grooming school in a corner of Sakura-machi near Kumamoto Castle, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. The cherry wood walls and a waiting room with a clear view through a gated frame contribute to the expanse of this hospital's "leaning medical care" extending out into the city. At night, the façade is illuminated to provide a gentle, lantern-like light to the cityscape. We aimed to create a space where people stay in, such as a waiting room or reception area, with a wooden material and indirect light like sunlight filtering through the trees to ease their anxieties, and to create a light environment that supports accurate diagnosis by using high color rendering LED lighting in the medical zone, where concentration and judgment are required. The logo consists of two animals, a dog and a cat, relaxing in the sunlight, to symbolize a bright future, while the pink and blue colors, taken from Sakura-machi, represent arteries and veins = life.
